5 Reasons HCG Injections May be Right for You

weight loss, physician assisted, customized plan, cancer

HCG injections may help you lose those stubborn pounds that seems to defy diet and exercise alone. At Active Future Solutions, Thomas S. Nabity Jr., MD, can help you understand how HCG injections might be a useful tool to reach your goal weight.

What is HCG?

HCG is a protein-based hormone that helps maintain the production of other hormones that are important for the normal development of the embryo and fetus. HCG is produced in high levels during the first three months of pregnancy; in fact, high HCG levels are a pregnancy marker. But elevated HCG levels in women and men can also indicate ovarian, placental, and testicular cancer.

Proponents of using the HCG diet believe that HCG boosts metabolism and promotes fat loss, not the muscle loss that other extreme diets can trigger. Proponents also say that HCG causes the rise of other hormones and produces a body-building and tissue-repairing state. More research is needed to support these claims.

What is the HCG diet?

The HCG diet pairs human chorionic gonadotropin hormones with a 500-calorie per day diet to achieve weight loss, sometimes 1-2 pounds per day.

On the diet, you are restricted to low-fat that you consume in two meals, lunch and dinner. During each meal, you must eat one protein, one vegetable, one fruit, and one bread. You’re limited to 1 tablespoon of milk per day. Also, only light exercise is allowed while you’re on the diet.

For the HCG part of the diet, you receive daily injections, or take HCG in pill or spray form that you can buy over the counter. At Active Future Solutions, we recommend the injections to ensure you are getting the recommended amount of the hormone. Some HCG products sold in stores contain little or no HCG.

The HCG diet lasts eight weeks, and the weight loss typically is quick as it is on most hyper-low calorie diet.

Are HCG injections right for you?

HCG injections are not FDA-approved for weight loss, though they are approved to treat infertility problems in men and women. Side effects of the diet can include headaches, fatigue, and depression, typical results of a starvation-level diet.

Still, HCG injections and diet may be right for you if you:

HCG injections and diet aren’t for everyone. And if you only want to lose a little weight, there are less extreme ways to accomplish that. We can recommend an appropriate weight-loss plan to meet your goals and lifestyle.
